Work

What I build

Software that a business runs on, rather than software a business buys. Most of the work below is one of three shapes: a public website with a publishing system the client’s own team keeps running, a member or customer area sitting on top of the systems that already hold the data, or the plumbing that keeps those systems agreeing with each other.

The design and the build are the same engagement. Where an identity was part of the brief it carried through into the screens people use, and where an interface was the brief it was built against the data underneath it.

What I build it on

Design
Figma
Websites and interfaces
Next.js, React, TypeScript, Webflow
Data and integration
Supabase, PostgreSQL, Airtable
Commerce and membership
Shopify, Recharge
Hosting and infrastructure
Vercel

The list follows the work, not the other way around. Several of the engagements below ran on the tools the business already had, because replacing them was not the job.

2026–

Ongoing development around the way the team manages merchandise.

Merchgirls’ catalogue connects the online store, quoting and accounting. Ongoing development keeps the team’s familiar working database at the centre, while the systems around it serve different jobs. The aim is to extend what the business can do without making staff maintain the same product details in several places.

A member experience that keeps growing beyond the monthly delivery.

Ongoing work for Knobby centres on a portal where subscribers manage their subscription and explore their collection. The roadmap builds on that experience with planned rewards and NFC features, giving members more reasons to take part. Subscription management remains the foundation as the playful layer grows.

One payments identity, carried through to the interface.

ConnectWise brought WisePay and WiseSync together under Autopaid. The work joined naming and brand design to a product interface and reusable design system, so the identity could hold together across the screens people use. Components and patterns gave the teams carrying implementation a shared basis to build from.

Guiding businesses through payments.

Novatti wanted fresh visual energy with the credibility of an established, ASX-listed company. The brand refresh made guidance its central story: maps, paths and GPS motifs turned complex payments into a journey businesses could navigate. That narrative carried from the visual identity into the new website.

A shared website for Mr Yum and me&u.

The merger needed a website that could introduce the combined business and still serve existing customers. The website plan mapped product, pricing and editorial pages alongside regional policies and legacy terms, so visitors could find the combined offer and the information behind existing services.

Grant information organised around the applicant’s questions.

Bennelong’s applicants needed to judge whether a grant was right for them. Dedicated program pages put eligibility, funding criteria and how to apply together, with clear paths for Australia and the UK. The website’s structure followed the questions people need answered before starting an application.

Donating and volunteering at the centre of the site.

For Alex Makes Meals, the website needed to turn willingness to help into a clear next step. The rebuild prioritised donation and volunteer journeys on mobile, consolidating the page structure around those actions. People arriving to give money or time could find the route that matched their intention.

2021–2024

Introducing flexible bill payments.

Payble offers flexible bill payments to councils and utilities. The engagement brought together brand identity, product design and a website to introduce the business and its service.

A website to introduce Submarine.

Disco Labs created Submarine for subscription commerce on Shopify. My contribution was the website: strategy and web development for the team bringing the product to merchants.
